After almost 60 years, St. Stephen School continues to pride itself as one of the premier Catholic schools in the San Francisco Archdiocese. St. Stephen School has thrived since 1952 when we first opened our doors to parish children. While St. Stephen has grown and evolved, we have also maintained many treasured traditions.

Since 2001, the school has flourished under the leadership of our Principal Sharon McCarthy Allen. In a testament to her leadership and the unwavering dedication of our faculty and staff, the WCEA/WASC accreditation team, which evaluates Saint Stephen School every six years, awarded us its highest possible rating this year.

State-of-the-Art Facilities 

While teachers in grades 1-8 inspire and motivate students in the same classrooms where they taught you, in 2000, thanks to the generosity of our parishioners, alumni, and school families, we dedicated an entire new school wing.  This wing, which includes a permanent kindergarten classroom, library, state-of-the-art science and computer labs, resource learning classroom and administrative offices, has allowed our faculty, staff and students to succeed in the 21st century. This year, again thanks to our generous parent, parishioner and alumni donors, we upgraded our entire computer lab and added innovative smart boards to each classroom.

In 2009, St. Stephen opened the doors to our amazing new Parish Center, a 20,000-square foot, two-level facility, which includes a high school regulation gym on the top floor and a large social hall on the lower floor with amenities including a commercial kitchen, snack bar, performance stage, two classrooms/meeting rooms, outdoor patio and barbecue, storage areas and offices.

Visit, Support and Stay in Touch

As many of you did, almost all of our students participate in CYO sports at our new Parish Center where they create lifelong memories with their teammates while their coaches instill the values of sportsmanship, camaraderie, and commitment. We encourage all alumni to enjoy a Friday night or a Saturday or Sunday afternoon at our Parish Center cheering our Cougar athletes during the Fall Girls’ volleyball, Winter Girls’ and Spring Boys’ basketball seasons.
