Matthew received an email message from Khan Academy's founder, Sal Khan, asking Matthew to share his successful story so that he could inspire other students. WOW! Matthew already inspires all of us - how wonderful to see him recognized by Mr. Khan!
This Saturday our 2nd graders will be receiving the Sacrament of First Holy Communion. The 2nd graders have been preparing for this holy Sacrament for the whole year. Holy Communion is the first time the 2nd graders will receive the bread and body of Jesus Christ. Congratulations 2nd graders!
This week the 5th and 6th graders went on a field trip to Riordan to see the play a "Your A Good Man Charlie Brown". This is a play about famous cartoon character Charlie Brown. The lead in the play and the director were both St. Stephen graduates.
Last week was St. Patricks Day. Here at St. Stephens we did many things to celebrate such as throw in class parties and wear green accessories. The corn beef dinner was also held over the weekend at Donworth Hall. Hope you all had a happy St. Patricks Day.
Last weekend, some of our 5th through 8th graders were in a school production of High School Musical. The students had been working on this play for 2 months. The play was amazing! Great job cast and crew.
This week is a big week for our Catholic students in 8th grade. This Friday, the 8th graders will be confirmed. During confirmation, you receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit. With this Sacrament you are also viewed as an adult in the eyes of the church. Good luck 8th graders.

Last Monday we celebrated Martin Luter King Jr. Day. At St. Stephen School, we did many projects and activities to help celebrate the holiday. These included reports, research, and even decorating the windows in the upper building with the words "Free at Last" for everyone to see. Thank you for honoring this amazing man, Cougars!
On January 11th 2014, the eighth graders completed the High School Placement Test. The High School Placement Test is a test taken nation wide by all of the students applying to Catholic high schools. Congratulations eight graders for your hard work, and good luck getting into the high school of your choice!
Today the 8th graders went downtown to watch a live performance of The Christmas Carol. The Christmas Carol is a play that is about a man named Ebenezer Scrooge who is visited by three ghosts. These ghosts teach him the true importance of Christmas.
