Our Mission
It is the mission of St. Stephen School community to educate children in a nurturing faith-filled environment that addresses the whole child, spiritually and intellectually.  Parents are recognized as the primary educators of their children and we collaborate with them in our role as their children’s teachers.  It is our mission to provide students with an opportunity to grow in their relationship with God as they pursue academic excellence.  Students in this community are encouraged to be mindful of the dignity of all people and to actively work for peace and justice in the world.  Instructional programs designed to reflect the Gospel teaching of Jesus Christ prepare students to become empathetic, responsible members of society, who are committed to working within their diverse community and the global society.

NEW! COVID-19 SAFETY PLAN (CSP)
On January 14, 2021, the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) published “COVID-19 and Reopening In-Person Instruction Framework & Public Health Guidance for K-12 Schools in California, 2020-2021 School Year.”  This updated framework, among other items, requires that schools which have already reopened for in-person instruction post a COVID-19 Safety Plan publicly on its website homepage by February 1, 2021.

The COVID-19 Safety Plan (CSP) consists of two elements:
  1. COVID-19 School Guidance Checklist: this 4-page checklist serves as consolidated public attestation that a school’s safety plan satisfies requirements for the safe reopening of schools per CDPH. The document can be viewed here
  2. COVID-19 Protection Program (CPP):  The CPP is a health and safety plan addressing measures contained within Cal/OSHA’s Emergency Temporary Standards (published December 1, 2020). You can view the document here
  3. St. Stephen Infection Mitigation Plan, Revised 1/31/21. The Infection Mitigation Plan has been updated to include language obtained from the Cal/OSHA Model COVID-19 Protection Plan. Major revisions are highlighted throughout the document in red color.  The revised plan can be viewed here.
